Cash was blessed by his Dad on Sunday August 9, 2009 in the Huntington Beach 7th Ward. We were fortunate to have a lot of family members in town to attend (Casey's whole fam, my dad, and four of my siblings and their families). I was so happy that my Dad was here for the big day. It was the first time he has met Cash and that was huge for me. It was always one of my fears that my Dad wouldn't be here to meet my children. I'm so grateful that he is. And I can't wait for Cash to get to know him. He's so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents on both sides.

Cash's Firsts
Cash was 11 lbs 6 oz and 22.5 inches long at 1 month. He was 13 lbs 10 oz and 24 inches long at 2 months. He is growing so fast and we are soaking up every detail. Here are some of his first experiences in pictures.
First real bath in the big boy tub (with a full belly!). He loves bath time. He just kicks back and relaxes.
First smiles.
Cash first started smiling regularly around 5 weeks. He started recognizing me around 6 weeks. He started recognizing Casey a few weeks later. And now he smiles every time he hears us or looks at us. It's amazing how good it feels to win a smile from him.

Getting to Know Us
I have learned a lot this summer. About my son, about myself, about my husband, and about our family. I will cherish this summer for the rest of my life. A time of new beginnings, discovery, and great love. Blossoming and undying love. Casey and I are changed. Forever changed for the better. Cash has seamlessly brought us closer together and made us a family. We are parents to the most beautiful little boy and he has captured our hearts. Every day I look at him and thank my Heavenly Father for blessing us with this most cherished gift. I would do anything for him. You don't understand that kind of love until you have a child. I get that now. Here is a little about us...
I have totally become one of those Mom's who makes her kids wear ridiculous things and loves it! How cute is this hat? Casey hates it.
Casey has far surpassed my ideals for the father of my children. I am so blessed to have them both in my life. And so grateful that they have each other.
I could spend all day every day doing this. Holding my precious baby as he sleeps. The most at peace and content that I have ever felt. The only icing on the cake would be Casey laying right there with us.
We are the Patterson's. We accomplished a lot of things before we became a family. But he is hands down the best thing we have ever done.
