Casey in the AVP

The main reason we are living here in Huntington Beach, CA is so Casey can follow his dream of being a professional beach volleyball player on the AVP tour. It's not like he had to twist my arm to live here, I mean c'mon it's California and we live three blocks from the beach. It is just hard to be away from my family and friends in Utah. Whenever I am missing Utah or thinking about how expensive everything is, all I have to do is look at Casey's beaming face after a he plays, and I realize that it's all worth it. Casey is living his dream, and I'm helping him.

In July, I watched Casey play in the AVP Long Beach tournament where he took 9th place. I was so happy that I finally got to see him play! Casey has impressed me so much this year with his passion for the game, determination to get better, and his work ethic. There has been a lot of buzz about Casey this year with AVP players calling him "the next big thing" and "an up and coming AVP star". I'm not sure if he believes it yet, but I do. I'm so proud of him. This was his first full time season playing and he already did so much better than we had hoped. I can't wait to see how he does for the rest of this summer and the summers to come. All the way to the London Olympics in 2012!

P.S. In September, Casey was nominated as "Rookie of the Year" for the 2008 AVP season. He didn't end up winning, but it was a huge honor to be nominated. We attended the AVP end of season banquet and it was so fun to rub elbows with all the Olympians. Hopefully that will be Casey some day. :)

Damn Casey for taking you away. I'm officially starting my London fund.
P.S. I'm lonely.
Enough said.

Tell Casey congrats for us! I'd give anything to be living in HB again 3 blocks from the beach! That's where I lived when I met Zach. But, I guess I'm here living in Puerto Rico to help Zach reach his dreams, right? Not bad I guess ;-) Miss you guys!

I can't tell you how proud of Casey we are. We talk about it all the time and how happy we are for him. He's really doing it and he's doing a good job at it. Not only that...you're supporting him and that is HUGE! Honestly without that support I don't know that he would be doing so well. Tell him hi for us and we're behind him 110% and will be there in London next to you and Erica. =D I can't wait!!!

You probably get asked this a lot, but does he want to go Olympic? Cause that would be super rad! He would be famous, you would also be famous cause you are beautiful and they would show this amazing wife on the sidelines. Sounds dreamy!!

Lex, hey, glad you found my blog! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! What a fun life you guys have! Can't wait to see Casey kick butt in the Olympics. I thought that we would maybe get to see Kristen in these ones :( So yeah, I'm a beetdigger now. The team is ok, we have some good potential, by the end of the season I think we will be pretty good, but there's a lot of work to do! I do like coaching, totally rewarding and fun to be with the girls for sure! So, right now Benson and I live with my fam because Aaron is gone to basic training for the Army until November, then we will be moving to AZ and Aaron will meet us there for 5 more months of training, and then off to Monterey (the best part) for a couple years for Aaron to go to the Defense Language Institute to learn arabic. After that we are hoping to get to live overseas somewhere :) So, long comment, but I will keep checking up on you guys. Looks like you're loving life!
